The annual Bexleyheath high street awards took place on Tuesday, and the Kings Arms was nominated in several categories:
Love Your Local Business & Overcoming Adversity
Naturally, we decided to make an event of the occasion by shutting the pub for the evening and bringing along as many team members as we could.
The team certainly got glammed up for the occasion.
The 'Love Your Local' award was voted by the general public and was a fantastic way for the community to have their say on the high street. While we didn't take first place in this category, we were thrilled to take home the 'Highly Commended award!
The next award was for overcoming adversity. Every business had a difficult time during the COVID-19 pandemic, and this award was a celebration of how hard we've all worked in dealing with this. Due to our charity work, local entertainment and dedication to helping the community, we took first place in this category!
The final category was for Business of the Year and was a complete surprise. So naturally, we were thrilled to receive this fantastic award! While we were up against some truly great businesses and would have been happy to see any of them win, we were touched and privileged to win the final award!
Thank you to the fantastic work of the Bexleyheath Business Improvement District for putting on a tremendous show, and we'll be seeing you next year!
